Health and Safety Training Classes

The American Red Cross offers a wide variety of training courses in First Aid, CPR, AED, lifeguarding, swimming, babysitting, care giving, and other areas for both individuals and organizations.  We are the most trusted training provider of health and safety training that meets OSHA guidelines and many other professional and regulatory standards.  Many self-study classes are available online and you can also register for classroom courses.  You can:

For scheduling flexibility, Red Cross classes are offered in traditional classroom, Web-based settings and a combination of the two.  The following registration and learning options are available for your convenience.

Registration Options

Register Online any time (up to 3 days prior to class) – credit card payment required

By Phone or In Person –Payment due at time of registration (credit card)

Please call the central registration number 1-800-733-2767 (1-800-REDCROSS) to register for Health & Safety classes.

Learning Options

Traditional Classroom – Attend classes in our Chapter, with one of our Red Cross certified instructors.  These classes feature instructor and video-lead learning; lots of hands-on practice-time; specialty courses availability.

Web-Based Training – Classes are strictly on-line and self-paced.  Currently, Bloodbourne Pathogens is the only class that is  available through this method.  To register on line, click HERE.

Combination Web-Based and Classroom (formerly called Blended Learning)-  This combines the convenience of web-based learning with skills testing by a trained instructor.  Classes available through this method are First Aid, CPR and use of AED’s.  Training is also available for CPR for the Professional Rescuer and Oxygen Administration.  To register on line, click HERE.

These options are available for both Community classes and Workplace Training classes.  We do offer additional options for our Workplace Training program.  Please read on.

Workplace Training Options

There are two types of instructor-led training delivery methods for Workplace training. 

The first option is having a Red Cross Instructor come to your facility and teach your employees at your site.  This is limited by instructor availability. 

The second option is sending one or more of your employees to our Instructor Training class where they become a certified Red Cross instructor.  They will then teach your employees at your facility according to your schedule and needs. This is know as the Authorized Provider program.

Additionally, if your company only has a few employees that need Red Cross First Aid or CPR training, they are welcome to enroll in our Community Classes.
